Automechanika Frankfurt: Lots of action for automotive professionals

By autotech-nic on July 5, 2024

A colorful and varied event programme is waiting at Automechanika Frankfurt from 10-14 September 2024: lectures on the repair of electric vehicles, over ten practical workshops on collision repair management, live painting on the outdoor area, a special exhibition on the garage of the future, a daily happy hour, presentations on classic cars and much more.

The business of automotive workshops is changing rapidly. If you want to stay up to date, you can experience the industry’s latest product developments at Automechanika Frankfurt, take part in a number of training sessions and expand your personal network with other professionals. This is what you can look forward to:

Electromobility

More companies than ever before will be presenting products and solutions in the field of electric mobility at the trade fair. Over a dozen Chinese manufacturers will be showcasing their electric vehicles in Hall 12.1 to meet new international business partners for repair, maintenance and service. These include companies such as BYD, SMART, GEELY Group, AVATR, JIYUE, SERES, Chang An, HONGQI and GAC International. The Volkswagen e-fleet can be test-driven in the outdoor area and the Korean manufacturer Genesis will be presenting its latest electric models in Hall 2 (Festhalle).

Practical workshops on collision repair management & live painting

Automotive professionals can receive further training at practice-oriented, certified workshops. They cover topics such as working on high-voltage and fuel cell vehicles, repair cost calculation with artificial intelligence, painting and digitalisation, finishing and polishing techniques, ADAS calibration and diagnosis of on-board electronics. Further workshops are planned in the areas of commercial vehicles and caravans. There will also be a very practical live painting session in a paint booth on the outdoor area in front of Hall 11.

Classic Cars: Programme & Vintage Lounge

Classic car enthusiasts will meet under the motto “Where Passion meets Business” in the Classic Area to make new contacts and exchange on trending topics. In addition to panels and presentations at the adjacent stage on topics such as digitalisation, recruiting new talent or process optimisation, the shared passion for historic vehicles will not fall behind. The Vintage Lounge invites visitors to exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere and celebrate the lifestyle of the classic car scene. Another highlight is the first ‘Rhein-Main Klassik’ rally, which will stop off at the exhibition grounds and bring a large number of historic vehicles with it.

Future Mobility Garage 4.0: Innovation showcase for the garage

In the Future Mobility Garage 4.0, you can interactively experience future technologies for the workshop and get an outlook on your future business. The focus will be on topics such as artificial intelligence and robotics, extended reality (XR), automation and digitalisation.

Trend topic detailing

In the Detailing DIY Area in Hall 12.0, detailing specialists will be demonstrating live on all five days of the trade fair how cars and vehicle parts can be reconditioned. Those who want to dive deeper into the subject can attend the certification course for detailers, which consists of a theoretical and a practical part, offered by the International Detailing Association (IDA) directly at the trade fair on 10 and 11 September.
