Drill down to underlying faults

By autotech-nath on May 16, 2018

Using its TechAssist technical expertise, Elta Automotive will be highlighting the importance of comprehensive diagnosis before changing one of the ever-increasing number of sensors in the modern vehicle during its ‘See Sense’ presentation at the show.

Elta says that although an incredibly important component, the air mass sensor, for example, has become the ‘first item on the list’ to resolve many a problem, when it is often merely a symptom and not the actual cause of the issue. Drilling down to find the underlying fault is the key to the correct prognosis and as well as yielding better results, following a structured procedure will improved workshop efficiency by saving time and money.

Alan Povey, TechASSIST Programme Manager, will present at 1pm on both Tuesday and Thursday of the show at the Workshop Training Hub.

The supplier of electrical and vision related components is also using Automechanika Birmingham as the centre-piece of its 25th anniversary celebrations. The family-owned business supplies products to the independent aftermarket under various brands, including its own ELTA label and both Lucas Electrical and XEVO, as well as for some of the leading names in the industry.

“Automechanika in June is an extremely important occasion in the company’s proud history,” says Managing Director, Ian Hallam, “as it will be the first national appearance of our new brand and marks a turning point for the business, as we embark on the next 25 years of our development.

“As well as providing the opportunity for us to engage with visitors… we are using the occasion to project our technical competence through the show’s seminar programme.”

ELTA is also sponsoring the ‘Large Garage’ category of the ‘Garage of the Year’ awards, held during the event.
