Induction Innovations®, a family-owned and operated manufacturer of high-performance induction heaters, shares advice on Lug Nut and caliper removal using its flameless heating tools

Induction Innovations®, Inc. is a family-owned and operated manufacturer of high-performance induction heaters. Founded by a Collision Repair Technician, we are the original inventors of the handheld induction heating tools and equipment for the automotive aftermarket industry. Made in the USA, our headquarters and all manufacturing are located in Elgin, IL.

Do it Faster – Do it Better – Do it Safer

Using high-frequency magnetic fields, our flameless heating tools have been designed to solve problems, saving time and money. Easily remove adhesives bonded to metal, fasteners bonded with thread lock compound, seized or corroded parts, auto glass, body moldings, spray-on bedliners, graphics and more. Salvage automotive parts in record time by as much as 75% while eliminating the need for expensive toxic solvents. Using an open flamed torch to remove parts can be dangerous – open flames are unreliable, can be time consuming to work with and can cause damage to the area surrounding the part, which all affect the productivity of your business, your profits, and the safety of employees. Heat where you need it when you need it! Induction heating tools are changing the way the automotive, auto recycling, marine, construction, and agriculture industries are approaching equipment repair. More technicians are turning to induction heating tools because it provides them with precise, safe, and reliable heat.

We all know the weather in the UK can be a bit wet sometimes, which can lead to rust on parts of the car. Whether it is a brake bleeder nut, wheel bearing, strut, control arm, lug nut or other fasteners, Induction Innovation’s products will heat you out of that bind!

The Mini-Ductor® Venom is the third generation in the Mini-Ductor® series. Induction Innovations® has a range of coils for every application, which are the only consumable part of the unit. We even have specific coils that are designed to get into recessed and tight areas. When used with the thin wall coil kit, the unit fits perfectly into the lug nut area without risking damage to the powder coating or burning the rim. The Mini-Ductor® Venom gives you precise, safe and reliable heat to be able to heat the application without having to worry about the collateral damage of a torch.

4 Steps to Lug Nut Removal

  1. Select the proper size coil. For best results, leave a small gap between the coil and lug nut
  2. Insert the coil and lock it into place with the twist lock
  3. Place the coil around the lug nut and heat for 15-20 seconds.
  4. Remove the lug nut.

Larger Applications No Problem!

Whether it’s a rotor, caliper, or other bigger application, the Pro-Max CE can come to the rescue. Using the concentrator (U-411) attachment, you can heat up other components in the tire hub. Rather than having to use multiple brute force methods, Induction Innovation’s Pro-Max CE gives you the option to be able to break free components quickly and safely. Using a high-frequency magnetic field, it allows you to be able to heat larger components without any collateral damage from a torch.

4 Steps for heating up a caliper to remove it!

  1. Insert the Concentrator attachment piece into the Inductor Pro-MAX CE power supply.
  2. Place the concentrator attachment flat against the caliper.
  3. Heat the caliper for 10-15 seconds, give the caliper a few seconds as the caliper will be very hot.
  4. Start the removal process of removing the caliper as the metal has now expanded.
