Magnatec protects

By autotech-nic on June 21, 2023

The Castrol MAGNATEC oil range is one of Castrol’s most extensive product lines, providing non-stop protection for customers’ engines. Using the Castrol MAGNATEC portfolio of products, workshops can service a wide range of cars from leading manufacturers.

The premium lubricant clings like a magnet to the vulnerable moving parts within the engine. The unique patented molecule in DUALOCK Technology then locks together with the other MAGNATEC molecule, forming a forcefield that provides 50% better protection from warm-up wear* and re-start wear**.

Castrol is one of the world’s leading lubrication innovators, drawing on over a century of technical leadership to enable performance and progress in the automotive sector. Up to 75% of engine wear happens during warm-up, and Castrol MAGNATEC uses intelligent molecules that cling like a magnet to provide an additional layer of protection.

A nationwide survey of 1,000 UK car owners commissioned by Castrol has identified that motorists’ want more influence over which products are used in their car. A significant 40% say they’d like their workshop to always state which lubricant they are intending to use as part of a scheduled service.

Only 9% of respondents said their usual workshop ‘always’ provides information about the lubricant that they plan to use; while a significant 49% said their workshop ‘never’ consults them about the lubricant they plan to use.

Castrol has launched a new formulation of its renowned car engine lubricant, MAGNATEC, that has been designed to meet the specific needs of Fiat GS1 and DS1-compatible engines*, found in models such as the Fiat Panda and 500, Jeep Compass and Jeep Renegade, and Alfa Romeo Mito.
