Pagid is pushing for a cleaner future, after ensuring 95% of all Pagid brake pads sold by Euro Car Parts are copper free. The move, reduces the amount of fine particle emissions emitted over time, and means their pads are now better for the environment.
Fine particle emissions are caused by copper being included in the makeup of brake pad production. As the pads wear down, fine particles are released into the air, which can be washed into the sea and harm marine life.
By investing €30 million annually into research and development, Pagid has been reducing braking emissions to meet US “Better Brakes Rules” regulations, and to create a better and cleaner future for all.
Sylvie Layec, Sales Director, IAM at TMD Friction, commented:
“Pagid’s focus is to get people from A to B safely, and our quality brake parts do that job well. Being responsible from an environmental point of view is also very important to us, and a cleaner environment is very much a part of our mission.
“Through this investment, we have been able to remove copper entirely from 95% of brake pads sold through Euro Car Parts. Our brand may be blue, but our pads are now greener than ever.”
