Comline says it is confident most technicians are aware and understand Electrical Power Assist Steering systems (EPAS); but warns the technology will continue to evolve; Product Manager, Mark Brown, says: “It’s crucial that technicians are keeping pace with the latest systems, like the latest BMW electro-mechanical steering system.”
Comline offers training programmes focusing on EPAS and alternative steering technologies to customers within the UK and Europe. “Beyond this, though, Comline is always looking at advances in steering & suspension systems, as well as the different technologies and concepts that are in development to ensure we have our finger on the pulse of the market,” explains Brown.
The company has 1,000 new references in the pipeline and expects the steering and suspension programme to be up there with filters and braking as one of its most successful product categories in the next few years. “Increasing vehicle numbers coupled with the questionable state of Britain’s roads should result in growing demand for steering & suspension components over the coming years,” says Brown. “However, it’s the potential for technological advancement which could bring about the biggest changes.”
