ALLDATA Europe has revealed its lineup for the upcoming Repair Excellence Event at DC Lomas. Leading experts in their respected fields will share their valuable insights on Saturday 26th April in Cheshire.
Dean Lomas, the owner of DC Lomas, Dave Reece, one of the co-founders of School of Thought, and Opus IVS’ Karl Booth and ALLDATA Europe’s Simon Frost will begin proceedings by delving into the real-world challenges and opportunities facing workshop owners and technicians.
Winner of the National Modern Apprentice of the Year award in 2001, Dean will share his experience as a trainee mechanic and hope to inspire fellow workshop owners with his passion for employing apprentices as he looks to protect the future of the automotive aftermarket.
Continuing the theme of attracting and retaining the right profile of professional, Dave will reveal strategies and offer tips to support employees working in a demanding environment.
Simon and Karl, meanwhile, will team-up to illustrate how collaboration is more powerful than competition in the garage community, citing the importance of people, tools and data.
At the conclusion of those presentations, the audience will be split into smaller groups for three technical training breakout sessions, led by familiar faces in the trade:
Steve Scott, the founder of the SimplyDiag network, will focus on effective approaches to diagnosing and solving vehicle faults. Specifically, he will identify root causes using pass/fail tests.
Master technician, Kris Williams, with the support of Dean, will showcase the benefits of ‘thinking outside the box’ when diagnosing a vehicle proves problematic, while Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions UK Technical Services Manager, Alistair Mason, will present and demonstrate double clutch training, emphasising how preparation and sourcing information for the job will enhance efficiency.
